Re: Lake Jindabyne, Drowned Poplars.

Brings back memories of the north bound drive on the Hume Highway into Jugiong. As you descended the hill and went round the bend, still descending, one would be greeted with an avenue of Poplar trees, often shrouded in a low lying mist in winter time. I like that you've used portrait mode for this ...

Re: The future of the forum

Oscar, I would like to thank you for the time you've given the forum to us; it's been a great ride.

Unfortunately I'm not tech savvy enough to take it on, and although it is a relatively small forum, it's been nice hanging out here.

Re: Crossover Hallway

Thank you Maris, that graduated centre filter makes this lens a treat to work with. I remember the first time I tried out the CGF with the 65mm lens, just looking at the GG was a revelation. As this was done at my Men's Shed location I had one member quite interested in what I was doing after I turn...

Crossover Hallway

This is in an old school and is the crossover hallway that links up two very long lengths of classrooms on either side. I've spoken with an old student and originally there was a roofed section over the footpath which connected the buildings, then it was boarded up on the sides, then that was pulled...

Re: Nude with Hat

Maris, the hat seemingly makes this better, not too sure why, but I feel it does. The tight framing also adds to the image, combined; they lift this ever so slightly. The trim on the band of the hat is placed perfectly, intentionally or otherwise, it is another leaf to her cap! Climbing trees to be ...

Re: Sapling and Shadow, Soft Focus.

Maris, that looks better than what one would normally get from a soft focus lens with the maximum soft focus slot in place. Perfectly placed background dark matter, which allows the myriad of little suns to shine brightly without competition. The shadow on the ground is a bonus, albeit, something yo...

Re: My Push Bike

Maris, thank you for your kind words. We must think alike, I first tried it with my 150mm, but it didn't quite jell. Then I thought the 150mm has huge coverage, and if I pulled out the Toyo 45G and dropped the front standard, twist the lens then raise the rear standard and rear focus.... but decided...

My Push Bike

It's been in a shed hanging upside down for the last couple of years, and as it is 50 years since I purchased it, I decided to pull it out, pump the tyres up and take it for a ride for a fiftieth birthday celebration. I was slightly wobbly for the first few metres as I adjusted to riding with drop b...

Re: Moonrise Watchers, Sunshine Beach.

What a great title, Moonrise Watchers on Sunshine Beach; quite the play on words there Maris. :D I too think your portrait view is the right choice, I'm particularly enamoured by the three slightly lighter rocks on the creek/river and the lighter patch of sand; they give the overall a bit of a lift....

Re: Deck View Kilcunda

Maris, my head is big enough, references to Paul Strand.... nonetheless, thank you for your kind words. I'm now starting to think that RoganJosh was onto something, after looking at the picture on and off over the last few days, it may just be one of my better efforts. Yes, the little wave was a bon...
