Re: Vines in Franklin

Alex, this looks interesting, however when I click on the image to see a larger view, I'm redirected to a site where the image is 12-13 MB or something like that. As I'm running on a mobile phone set-up at the moment, I pulled the plug. Any chance of a smaller version hosted on this forum, for viewi...

Re: Framed ambrotypes

I've been away and these turn up when I return; what a stunning effort, with stunning results.

As for the frames themselves, they would be nothing without their internal art you've created.

Re: Contorted Snow Gum, Mt Wheatley

Maris, another excellent use of the super wide focal length for the format.

That back swing, certainly appears to have done the trick. Something more often used for walls on buildings, rather than for walls of nature.

Re: Nude, Above Lion Rock

When I looked at this I immediately saw the brightness of the horizon at the top of the picture, after reading the notation about your cropping requirement, I realised just how attuned I am to seeing your images with a film outline. I think the model has blended well into the tree limbs with her sem...

Re: Melt Line, Near the Kozi Road

Ooooh, very hard to get detail on icy snow as well as dark wet vegetation, you've succeeded admirably. The little blades of grass sticking through the snow, lifts the whole. I'm assuming you are talking about the summit road in Kosciuszko NP? A group of us rode our motorcycles to within 200m of the ...

Dunny In The Park

I thought I would revisit this park to once again take a picture of the award winning ablution block; I kid you not, it won an award. This is the second ablution block that has won an award in Victoria that I know of. The other is halfway up Mt Baw Baw, and yes, I've visited both. I wonder if there ...

Re: Bicycle Belle

I must apologise to both of you, it was a play on words for a set subject on another photographic forum. I meant to remove the last "e" on Belle after I had typed in the subject line, I didn't realise I hadn't done that until I received a notification. The good news is that it did at least...

Re: Tea Tree Bay, Paperbark Parade

Yep, sorta, kinda, saves it! To be honest, the moment I saw the image, I immediately thought of the difficulty you probably had; then I read your comments, and knew. I prefer not to expose heavily for the shadows, them bump the developing through either time or agitation. I think I would have done p...

Re: Tea Tree Bay, Paperbark Parade

The first thing I noticed, was the fifth (cropped, or lopped?) tree, which makes the row of trees more interesting.

I really like the light coloured roots over the rocks, and when combined with the white bark of the trunks; the whole, makes for an arresting viewing experience.
