Galston, N.S.W. — Agricultural shed in a municipal themed reserve. "Do you want me to reattach the conduit,, boss? It'll only take a minute." "Naah. It's fine as it is. It adds to the pioneering look of the joint." "How so? It's PVC for crying out loud!" "Don't was...

Re: Dutch Iris

A nice motif commendably handled, John. I have a strong drive for the mystique of black on black and white on white tones rolling into similar tones. Limited depth of field can be a useful tool with aiding in transition of form to form, in this case conferring visually that tactile experience of pet...

Re: Gobo For "The Mound Of Diamonds"

Mick,

I have mate in Bega who has a Nikkor Tele 360/500 he'd be glad to get rid of, if that takes your fancy. I borrowed it years ago and found the image circle restrictive. This is withe 500mm.

Re: Ready, Willling And Able

Yes Mick, That was the initial Gossen kit. If it was for the Sinor it would’ve been for the Norma and my first encounter with it was seeing it promoted in those glossy Grossbild Teknik magazines that Linhof used to put out. By the time I bought one in the 80s Sinar had put the probe port into the ba...

Re: Gobo For "The Mound Of Diamonds"

Thanks Mick,

I had a 300mm Apo-Symmar as a standard lens from 10x8 and also used it for product shots on 5x4. It was the second lens I bought after a 210mm. The thing I'd recommend for field use is the Nikkor-M 300mm 1:9 which is the size of a 150mm — Copal1 and 52mm filters AND covers 8x10.

Re: Ready, Willling And Able

WOW!! That must have been the early probe, made by Gossen and initially teamed with Linhof. I had the later one which teamed with a Broncolor meter. It worked okay for me but my use of spot-metering as an exposure determining method was incredibly short lived for both colour and black & white. C...

Re: Inspirations

The summer school holidays were dragging on. I was about 6. My father asked me why I was grumpy and I said, "I'm bored!" There came pivotal parental advicee: "If the world is boring you, take more interest in it." The next Christmas Santa brought me my wished-for Box Brownie and ...
