WTB Nikon LS8000ED scanner or LS9000ED

I am looking to but an LS8000 scanner for parts to repair an existing scanner with a failed FireWire driver (main board). Happy to pay a reasonable price for an example that may not even be working ...... A few are showing signs of age! Also interested in the superior LS 9000 in case anyone wants to...

Re: Seaside Idyll

I like the luminosity and composition of this photograph.
The model is relaxed and natural without pretence. The skin tones are wonderful providing nice modeling
Overall the image simply has a nice resonance that I can't fully describe

Re: Large Format Day - UNSENSORED14

I attended the opening last Friday and met some of the exhibiting photographers over a glass of wine. I really enjoyed the exhibition with some well presented images from various film formats. I particularly liked the two colour Hasselblad photos that were shot using Ektar - strong urban composition...

Re: The future of darkroom printing

I think we are very fortunate to live in a time where we have options to take and process photographs. While I have profound respect for straight analogue photography processes I also see benefits in embracing the numerous benefits of the digital world. This excellent forum exists because of digital...

Hi Walter,
Thanks for the info.
Out of interest how many 4x5 negs would you develop with 45 ml of DD-X stock?

Re: Jobo - Uneven developing

I use the Jobo CPP2 and various Jobo drums including an expert drum for 5x7 negs To some extent unevenness depends on the developer you using and also the type of tank. Some developers are harder to work with than others eg pyro which I think works better in a tray. A pre soak is a good idea and pro...

Re: Singing The Ballad of FP4+

Hi Walter,
Your post has inspired me to give DDX a go over the next couple of weeks I'll be trying this with FP4. HP5 and Tri X
I'm particularly interested in whether I can get even development in the Jobo CPP2 as well as tonality and acceptable acutance.

Have you tried DDX with Foma LF film?

Re: Thanks for bringing the site back

I'd also like to add my support to what others have posted. This site is important to encourage Large format photography in Australia particularly for younger photographers seeking knowledge and inspiration. I guess we all want to see it continue and I'm also happy to chip in financially to help fun...
