Re: Before the bushfires in East Gippsland

Thanks Mick. Yes, I was always out and about with a camera. Living in Cann River I was never very far away from something nice to see. My only regret at the time was the camera. a Toyo 810M monorail. It was beautiful in every respect - precision engineering, capable of large movements, and a real jo...

Before the bushfires in East Gippsland

Saddened by the destruction of the recent fires I decided to reprint some of the 8x10 negatives I made when living in Cann River during the 80s. This place to me was the centre of the universe, being close to pristine coast, cool temperate rainforests and only a short drive to the Australian Alps. F...

Interesting image, Maris. I'm puzzled by the plant matter; aquatic grass or needle leaves blown onto the water surface?

Re: Mountain Image, Main Range

Nostalgic for me too. I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I'd be pushing to do Charlotte Pass to Blue Lake and back now. And that's not carrying LF kit. It's nice we have the images and memories to nourish our souls when the flesh becomes too weak. Great place, great image.

Re: Nude with Sand

An interesting concept and beautifully executed as usual, Maris. I chuckle at the WG-style description... whether serious or in jest, Walter's comments always provoke thought.

Re: Snow Gum View, #9.

Love this, Maris. Great composition and full of interest from foreground to background. Camera couldn't have been very far from the foreground grasses. Lovely.
