Re: Trying out the new kit

Lovely shots Walter, particularly the street scenes as Maris said. To be honest I can't tell the difference between the two film speed tests - how do the negs compare? We're all strange creatures with our different likes and dislikes, though some probably less strange than others. I've had two Tachi...

Fujinon.T 8/400 sell or trade

I have a Fujinon.T 8/400 in very nice condition. Very sharp and with plenty of movement capability on 4x5 - even just covers 5x7. 67mm filter size. Bellows draw around 250mm. Asking $400, or would consider 4x5 enlarger as part trade with cash adjustment either way.

Re: War Time Nissen Huts — various levels of adaptive re-use

Nice series Walter. (Is this 'the project' with your new camera? If so, you didn't waste any time!) Looking at these what strikes me is the differences in attitude people have to their home. Some show pride in their humble Nissen hut and beautify it with a nice garden (3rd image); others may regard ...

Really nice image, Maris. And a nice lens; I've really come to appreciate Wollensak lenses.

Re: Vanbar Order C-41 taking forever

I agree, liquid chemistry can be a problem. There are rules in the US which affect what can be posted and air mailed. Another good source, which I haven't tried, is Photoimpex. http://www.fotoimpex.de/shopen/system/?func=shophome&wkid=50607563549459&nocache=1406275073 They have a fixed price...

Re: Vanbar Order C-41 taking forever

Commiserations, Colin. This is par for the course with Vanbar; the details are different, in my case 4x5 Efke film (which I subsequently bought from Freestyle), but the responses are the same, 'it's on the boat'. This sort of crap is unacceptable, and I'd like to say, 'un-Australian', but unfortunat...

Re: Building an 8x10.

Wow, that is a great job, Lachlan! Yes, that's the fabric I remember you describing. I agree, sourcing the right bellows fabric is a problem - not just in AU. I have an article by John Harlin on bellows making: http://www.jbhphoto.com/articles/bellows-building/ and he complained about the same probl...

Re: Building an 8x10.

Inspirational Lachlan. Did you make those springs yourself, or are they from Deardorff/somewhere else? Also I think I remember a reference to cloth for bellows somewhere - I think it was from you, but could be wrong - was it Spotlight blackout material? I can't find the post. I'm about to start a no...

Re: What I've been up to

Love this latest venture of yours Alex, I've been following it keenly on the other forum. I really liked this one too - I like the composition and also see a humorous element in the top rock of the pile which looks like a mouse looking on. (Am I mad?) I'm eagerly awaiting your next examples.
