Re: Why does using Photoshop on my negatives are me feel dir

"Ideally the neg image should be modified as little as possible." Why?.". Suggest you read my last sentence and review the whole purpose of this thread related to the original poster feeling uncomfortable with needing to perform excessive photoshop adjustments. Digital adjustments ca...

Re: Why does using Photoshop on my negatives are me feel dir

I know that the print is where the final output is and the masters would do all kinds of things with their negs to get what they wanted from it. I do some/very little editing of my negatives at the moment but always feel if I go too far from the actual negative itself, I'm breaking some unspoken ru...

The price of Large Format Photography (eBay)

Have you noticed how some dealers are "pumping"" the used large format gear market? All of a sudden beat up ordinary lenses have a " buy now" price of $1500 while a Taylor Hobson lens cap is being advertised at a mere $270.00. :o I'm sure none of these guys are photographers...

Re: Imacon Scanners

I've got the Flextight Photo 'Baby' Imacon. I've always been impressed with this thing. I used it primarily for scanning my 617's, but more and more I'm using it for other MF formats as well. The Flexcolor software is great, I just haven't got round to figuring out the deal with scanning in the 'RA...

Re: WTB jobo 8x10 Expert Drum

Look in Germany. You can still get these new and under $500 over there. I keep hearing rumors that Jobo is back in business but no one in Australia is importing their new equipment...... There is an eBay seller Catlabs who sells these tanks on eBay but costing over 600 bucks landed. A lot of money ...

Re: Would anyone be interested in a large format "camp"?

A large format camp? How about a large format resort! I have seen successful photographic gathering/workshop/shooting/exhibition/discussion activities at one of my favourite venues: Pygmy Possum Lodge at Charlotte Pass in the Kosciuszko National Park. Advantages: Between Sydney and Melbourne. Cushy...

Imacon Scanners

I would be interested in finding out if anyone on the forum is using o Flextight Scanner? If so what has the experience been particularly with software support and challenges with the scisi interface? I want to upgrade my aging Epson 4870 flatbed and while the epson v700 is good for sheet film it is...
