Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Mick, Another solution to this, no pun intended, used to be to use Diafine developer — two-bath developer that gives a speed increase and develops to finality, of sort of, that has a very compensating affect. I used it for many years and loved it. Extremely minimal education ..... three minutes in t...

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Very handy thing to keep, John, is the database locations or objects and the best time or season to shoot them. I wanted to shoot the house that my father grew up in and found had to be right around the summer solstice. As it turned out the first day of sunlight happened be Boxing Day.

Re: Pandani leaves and Lichen

I love the motif Mark,

Something somewhat reptilian lurking in the texture for me.

Re: Form + Pattern

Hahaha,

On this series it was whatever the girls had that would reflect them. Even Eleni would disappear inside one of my shirts.

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Mick, I consulted Phil Davis and this is this chart for changing the gradient. Processing FP4+ is curve #1. I don't have the Ilford data sheets to hand but I'm sure you can access one and find out what the regular gradient is as a starting point. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51663527698_949d8...

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Mick, It may well be futile for me to offer critical appraisal of a web rendering, and with the number of unknowns such as whether this is a scan of a neg, my camera copy of a print. That said, looking at the enlarged rendering, I think there are total merges up on the shoulder of the curve. Whether...

Re: Gong Gong Church

The timing seems perfect Mick, as is everything else. The abrupt slope at the right is the clincher for me, it does something wonderful for rigid row pf windows.

Re: Brew, Chew & View

I'm with you there on the Jaffas, Mick, Maybe just like Alvin Purple its all a bit Fantasy Land. Smoke screen for the grab for ya cash. The exterior is fake art deco, but the interior is a concrete box lined with curtains to hide the speakers and to deaden the reverberation. I grew up in an eraI gre...

Re: 'UNDERWATER' Cinema Alley, Wetherill Park, N.S.W.

Thanks Mick, All up with a double line of undulating neon tube running the length of the corridor spanning eight cinemas there might be the best part of a kilometre of blowing glass. Elimination levels are aided by the silver panelling on the ceiling but the low lught level is indicated by the overe...
