Re: Mulga Posts, Sheep Mustering Yards

Ha ha, poor man's compendium. I too use the dark slide in exactly the same manner. I saw compendiums used a lot in the studios and always noted just how fiddly they were to get things just right, more so if you were using CC filtration in the filter slot/opening some of the compendium hoods had. As ...

Re: Mulga Posts, Sheep Mustering Yards

Maris, those upright posts are certainly eye catching, luckily for you, the probably bright tin roof has been omitted, either in the negative or when you printed.

The icing on the cake though, is the shadow formed by the upright posts.

Re: Nude in Surf Backwash

Maris, that looks really good.

I see a vortex dragging her by the legs into deeper water, could be the start of a great series.

Tripods sinking in wet sand, yet you lived to tell the tale!

Re: Lone Sentinel

Ha, you are right, put an a instead of an e, fixed now. Frieze, mmm, bit of a long shot there Maris, but I agree with you about the background of trees; it is why I took this picture from where I did. For what it's worth, I also like this is a severely cropped panorama, as in an enclosed landscape. ...

Lone Sentinel

This is probably the last one from the series worth looking at. All were taken with no filter, I really wish I had popped an orange filter on. Re: Yarrie Lake Billabong and Spoonbills

Thank you Maris. I was walking around the billabong, area for about an hour, spoonbills were all over the place. Eventually these two were side on, so a quick walk, plonk the tripod which already had the camera lens combination mounted, compose, focus, film holder in, then expose. I knew the other b...

Yarrie Lake Billabong and Spoonbills

Thought I'd try and capture some wildlife, not the best thing I've done by a long shot, but pleasing nonetheless. Re: Millstream Falls, North Queensland

Maris, I can certainly understand your dilemma, done that a few times. Can be frustrating, but on the other hand can be wonderful if the light is right, the subject is reasonable and your viewpoint works. Regardless, still looks pretty alright. You didn't have a wide angle, or is the wide angle view...

Re: New Life; Monstera Deliciosa

Thank you Maris. I never thought of a polarising filter as I waited and waited for the right light to get the reflections. The aim of the photograph was to somehow depict the highlights without them blowing out. Freshly expanded leaves are the glossiest and have the best reflections, so pretty much ...

Re: New Life; Monstera Deliciosa

Thank you Barry, they do indeed present great possibilities, however, unless the light is just right, one usually ends up with a flat uninteresting image.
