Dawn-ish Acton

I've not been out and about much, but am trying to keep on with the practice.
This is with the 300mm ApoRonar and Ektar.]

Re: Pandani leaves and Lichen

Mark, these are right up my alley, as usual. The image gives me a sense of protection, maybe because of its obvious proximity.

The Provia (on my monitor here) renders this exactly as I remember seeing them, especially the moss colour.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

I don't have any advice here, Mick, but wanted to say that it sounds a fun and worthwhile project.... the one moment of the year that sun hits the south facing wall of a building! Very cool, and it should be celebrated!

Re: Centre Grad Filters Reference

Thanks Walter. I had looked at these when choosing a shorter lens and ended up with the Fuji SW 90 in part because I wanted to avoid centre gradient filters and had read that mostly it didnt need one... I might see if I can run some analysis on images to see what sort of fall off is evident without.

Re: More Fujifilm ending

Yeah, right! I never used acros, but acros ii is expensive and (for me) only decent. I like 160ns in 120 though, especially for portraits, its a nice alternative to portra 160.

I will probably get some e6 and velvia 4x5.
I'd hate to day that I missed out on ever shooting an LF landscape on velvia!

Re: In Praise Of Minor White

Really cool that you share that experience :) A mate of mine makes her living shooting homes for magazines and books and I hope (when we can travel interstate again) to take my camera down to her and let her play with it to see what was possible with these cameras. For what its worth, the first came...

Re: Up close with one of my favourites

Thanks Mick! I'd not heard or thought of the Gestalt effect as it relates to photography, but of course it has a strong presence... interesting stuff! I'm keen to read more about these sorts of compositional impacts, even if I don't think of them explicitly while out shooting, I think it percolates ...

Re: In Praise Of Minor White

Absolutely sensational! When you mention "the brief" did you do this work always with film?
I'd not heard of Minor White before this.
