Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

The enlarger manual calls for a 12V power supply and for a 12V/100W lamp. The timer that I have requires 110V so I'd be really reluctant to try using it here without connecting a transformer to it first, since these are cheap maybe this is the best option?

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

So if I bought a 240V US timer and a US power supply I could just use a simple US to Aus plug adapter at the mains? Is this what is typically done? Sorry for my ignorance, this is my first time trying to set up something like this...

Help needed setting up enlarger

Well, this is my first time setting up an enlarger and to be honest it has me a little miffed. From reading the instructions (and using past enlargers at TAFE etc) it is my understanding that the timer is plugged into the mains, and the enlarger to the timer through a power supply. The equipment tha...

Thanks for the advice guys, it definitely makes buying a lens simple when the contenders are all decent! I'll let you know what I end up picking up.

Re: Roadtripping up to Sunshine Coast... suggestions for pho

G'day Alex, sounds like a pretty good week you've got coming up! I'd recommend having a look around Berridale (between Cooma and Jindabyne); it's definitely one of my favourite places to photograph and would seem to be a good fit for what interests you.

Re: 80mm enlarging lens advice

Thanks Walter, there seems to be a couple of the Nikkors floating around at the moment on eBay that seem reasonable though they're all from overseas. Whilst this isn't a problem it'd be nice to pick one up from a local seller - there is a Componon for sale located in QLD which may be a good option, ...

80mm enlarging lens advice

Alright, I know it's not a large format question but was hoping that I could still draw on the wealth of experience on offer here! Patrick has kindly donated to me his LPL C6700 enlarger and a heap of other gear, and I'm in the process of getting it all set up for printing my 6x6 negs. As part of th...

Re: Camera repairs in Australia?

Maybe it'd be worth getting a quote for a new rail + postage from the US service rep and having a go at fixing it yourself?

Re: Hasselblad 903 SWC Lens Clean

I've had lenses (not Hasselblad) serviced through CRK before and it took a long wait and numerous calls before anything was done with them; it took them over a month just to be sent from Sydney to Melbourne! It'd be great if you keep us in the loop with how things go, at some point I'm going to need...
