Dunny In The Park

I thought I would revisit this park to once again take a picture of the award winning ablution block; I kid you not, it won an award. This is the second ablution block that has won an award in Victoria that I know of. The other is halfway up Mt Baw Baw, and yes, I've visited both. I wonder if there ...

Re: Bicycle Belle

I must apologise to both of you, it was a play on words for a set subject on another photographic forum. I meant to remove the last "e" on Belle after I had typed in the subject line, I didn't realise I hadn't done that until I received a notification. The good news is that it did at least...

Re: Tea Tree Bay, Paperbark Parade

Yep, sorta, kinda, saves it! To be honest, the moment I saw the image, I immediately thought of the difficulty you probably had; then I read your comments, and knew. I prefer not to expose heavily for the shadows, them bump the developing through either time or agitation. I think I would have done p...

Re: Tea Tree Bay, Paperbark Parade

The first thing I noticed, was the fifth (cropped, or lopped?) tree, which makes the row of trees more interesting.

I really like the light coloured roots over the rocks, and when combined with the white bark of the trunks; the whole, makes for an arresting viewing experience.

Re: Nude at Miena, Tasmanian highlands

That is a striking success, sunburn or not. As you mention that your model was very tolerant of the time it takes to do this kind of photography, perhaps the two of you could delve into the kind of work Veruschka did with body painting and blending into the surrounding landscape. I could see that tr...

Re: Chairs and Tree, weyba Creek

Quite a peaceful picture of the shoreline, the water and the tree line in the distance, not to forget the obligatory pelican.

That shoreline must be made of quite hard ground, otherwise the legs of those chairs would start sinking.

Re: More Miena trees

Quite an arresting image, enhanced a bit more by the irregular edges of emulsion(?) showing. Do you make the glass black, or do you use a black backing? I'm quite ignorant of the ambrotype process, but seem to remember this being a thing when I visited the German National Museum for their celebratio...

Re: 8X10 Paperbark Forms, Lake Weyba.

A very calming landscape (waterscape?) I don't see anything negative about the slight divergence from the nominal 8x10" negative format, in fact I see a positive..... :o All jokes aside, I like the layout of the window through the tree limbs to the water, with the distant land in the background...
