Re: My Push Bike

Maris, thank you for your kind words. We must think alike, I first tried it with my 150mm, but it didn't quite jell. Then I thought the 150mm has huge coverage, and if I pulled out the Toyo 45G and dropped the front standard, twist the lens then raise the rear standard and rear focus.... but decided...

My Push Bike

It's been in a shed hanging upside down for the last couple of years, and as it is 50 years since I purchased it, I decided to pull it out, pump the tyres up and take it for a ride for a fiftieth birthday celebration. I was slightly wobbly for the first few metres as I adjusted to riding with drop b...

Re: Moonrise Watchers, Sunshine Beach.

What a great title, Moonrise Watchers on Sunshine Beach; quite the play on words there Maris. :D I too think your portrait view is the right choice, I'm particularly enamoured by the three slightly lighter rocks on the creek/river and the lighter patch of sand; they give the overall a bit of a lift....

Re: Deck View Kilcunda

Maris, my head is big enough, references to Paul Strand.... nonetheless, thank you for your kind words. I'm now starting to think that RoganJosh was onto something, after looking at the picture on and off over the last few days, it may just be one of my better efforts. Yes, the little wave was a bon...

Re: Deck View Kilcunda

Thank you RoganJosh. I hadn't thought of the balance, but after some reflection it does appear to be reasonably good. In time I may appreciate this image more, I exposed the film on Tuesday, developed Thursday and posted here on Friday. I had a devil of a time with getting sunlight onto the deck and...

Re: Deep Forest, number 3

Oooh, Maris, nice one. I do love B&W IR films, never saw much in any colour versions. This is very moody, with just the right amount of softness which probably emanates from the length of the exposure, as well as all (most) IR film's hard to focus exactly issue. It's not as though you have a lit...

Re: Swamp Sedge, Alexandria Bay

Quite an interesting plant, almost looks like the sticks when they are falling in a game of, "Pick-Up Sticks".

That Voigtländer certainly does things beautifully, sigh.

Very nice one there Maris.

Re: Mulga Posts, Sheep Mustering Yards

Ha ha, poor man's compendium. I too use the dark slide in exactly the same manner. I saw compendiums used a lot in the studios and always noted just how fiddly they were to get things just right, more so if you were using CC filtration in the filter slot/opening some of the compendium hoods had. As ...

Re: Mulga Posts, Sheep Mustering Yards

Maris, those upright posts are certainly eye catching, luckily for you, the probably bright tin roof has been omitted, either in the negative or when you printed.

The icing on the cake though, is the shadow formed by the upright posts.
