Re: Blueys fall

Well, for a start welcome back John, You've been missing in action for quite a while, both here and on Flickr. War stories are always good, you're likely to find that in years to come every time you see that negative or print the story will come back to you. Not trying to teach grandma to suck eggs ...

So calm Maris,

But an echo of earlier surf action in the damp sand.

Re: Photographer and Model, Alexandria Bay

The photographer also said that he didn't want to open a camera for loading and unloading, or for a lens change, on a sandy beach with a bit of breeze across it. Maris, There in lies the reason why I used 15 foot loads of 70 mm EPR in my Hasselblad and 220 in my Pentax 67 and Pentax 645 for years. ...

Re: Photographer and Model, Alexandria Bay

What a coincidence Maris, Just yesterday I reached down my copy of "Jock Sturges: Radiant Identities"and had a reminiscent flick through. It reminded me, yet again, of just how wonderful skin in natural light looks captured and contact printed with the micro tonality offered only by 8x10. ...

Re: Thredbo River

Select a prize from the top shelf Mick, Copal 0 and. 49mm filters indeed, not to mention maximum aperture 1:5.6 which is very handy with a spot of glaucoma in the left eye. Fortuitously I have a stack of 49 mm filters and a vintage Schneider 49mm lens shade with a magnetic attachment to hold gelatin...

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Mick, Given the definitive time calculation I gather you used the stated P factor of 1.26 and calculated? I'm looking at using XP2 Super with the suggestedd P factor of 1.31. Nice to get a clue that it's within coo-ee. At least Ilford advise the factor whereas Kodak suggest you burn some film testin...

Re: Z Cell Batteries Again

"as there had been some additions, both actual and configuration wise, the insurance details needed to be adjusted." Great, Thanks for clarifying Mick. I sniffed an ulterior motif. And a fine outcome to boot. As for Lysaght's legacy, that is corrugated iron which at times can be the ubiqu...

Re: Thredbo River

Sad to say Maris, I attempted to cure some insomnia late on the night that you originally posted this and so affective was the panacea that I drifted off to sleep, fingers on the keyboard, and awoke hours later to find that my login had expired. Given your penchant. for light weight portability your...
