Re: Exposure metering

Just been reading my LF Technique book and come across 'the bellows factor' which needs to be calculated after taking a light reading.
No one has mentioned that.
Let's hear something about that.

Re: Polaroid Fuji holders nightmare

I know the size is slightly smaller that 4x5 but the FP100C size is heaps cheaper and I plan on using it for testing prior to loading the 4x5 neg.
I mean for testing exposure and DOF etc.
Does anyone else use this technique - I'm only going from what I've read elsewhere, never tried it out myself yet.

Scanning 4x5 Negatives

Hello, Anyone have advice on scanning 4x5 negatives to digital image?
Type of scanner and results compared to getting this done at a lab.
Thanks.

Re: Exposure metering

Hi boinzo, you make some good points.
I'll see how I go with the metering and let you all know how things turn out.
Might be a few weeks away yet though.

Re: Exposure metering

Hey guys, calm down a bit. You'll burst a blood vessel! I can see this topic has opened up a real can of worms. I had a quick look at the zone thing and BTZS. Think smbooth has a point. I managed quite well for 30 years using my Olympus OM1 with it's needle meter. I could sum up a scene and adjust t...

Re: Film Processing questions

Hi Lachlan.
What sort of setup are you using for the E-6.
Not sure what a CCP2.. is.
Let me know the details if you have time.
Thanks.

Re: Film Processing questions

Hi Bionzo, you'll have to explain what a CPE is. I have done my own 35mm BW negatives and printing but that was many years ago when I had access to the club darkroom at work. The more I look at all this the more I think I'll be going the way you did, and do my own BW processing at least. My 4x5 came...

Polaroid Fuji holders nightmare

Hi, I'm sure this has been asked in the past. I'm researching the options for instant film for 4x5 use. Is it possible to use the sheets from say Fuji FP 100c packs of 10 sheets (8.5x10.8cm) with a Polaroid 545 holder? The film is cheap and the holders are cheap but has anyone tried to use them toge...

Re: Exposure metering

Yes, the Weston is a good meter but not a spot meter.
How much of an advantage is that to have a spot meter?
Probably better for high contrast scenes I guess.

Re: Film Processing questions

Infra red sounds interesting. Think I'll be having a go at the BW processing but probably using some sort of tank system as I don't have a darkroom. What about colour? Is anyone using the Fuji instant colour film for 4x5? I've seen where you can get a negative from these by using bleach to remove th...
