Re: Monolith, Glen Innis

Almost a Monolith with child...

Perfect angle to get the right amount of light on the monolith, while the child is the brightest part of the image so you immediately go there and from there, your eyes roll around the monolith.

Looks like a windy day, grass looks a bit soft, or is that focus?

Re: Lake Mokoan

Thank you Maris, as for rebirth, not quite the same thing, but my goddaughter who was born and bred just down the road from this swamp in Thoona, had her third child today in nearby Wangaratta. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!

Re: Reciprocity Factor (Ilford)

Shawn, hello and welcome to the forum. I haven't used it with C41 film as I don't use colour film much these days. As for it being strange that some people don't use the internet, well there are plenty of people who have difficulties, including my friend who is legally blind, is in his eighties and ...

Re: Portrait, Voigtlander Heliar Lens Test.

Very nice Maris, like Barry I prefer sharp contrasty stuff. However in this instance I think you have the right balance with a soft enough rendering that still holds much detail.

I'm sure your subject is happy with the results.

Re: Lake Mokoan

John, I wanted to include the foreground vegetation as it really gave depth to the image; that was the intention and why I used the 250mm to add as much compression as possible. It seemed to work well enough. A very good friend grew up in Thoona, moved to the big smoke, met a city girl, eventually t...

Re: Ferntree Falls Mt Cole State Forest

Barry, you will certainly like it, especially the upper and main waterfall. Unfortunately I couldn't access the main waterfall as it was just too slippery, so I decided upon the lower tiny waterfall. If I had turned the film back to landscape mode, then I would have almost all black on the right and...

Re: Ferntree Falls Mt Cole State Forest

Barry, quite accessible as they are only around 250m from the car park, I walked in to check out the scene, then walked back to the truck and brought the camera back in with bag bellows already attached. I had already worked out the 65mm would be the lens, the main rocks are about 1m from the camera...

Re: Fallen Bush, Noosa National Park.

Maris, certainly a captivating image of a fallen and presumably dead bit of bush.

Almost a plant version of Medusa......

Re: Jimna Hall #2.

Maris, definitely a good idea to use the very wide angle lens to give it a bit of a different look. I'm in two minds as to whether the lawn area is best left as is, or whether to crop the lawn somewhat. Presumably you are doing contact prints, so that makes it a bit harder to achieve a clean crop as...

Ferntree Falls Mt Cole State Forest

Managed to get to this little waterfall, which is a sub waterfall of the main waterfall last weekend. I knew it would have water falling as the rain has been rather prodigious of late. :o First time in a while that I have used the 65mm lens without a graduated centre filter; worked well. Beautiful m...
