I'm tempted to buy a new Shen Hao or a Chamonix. I've been waiting for a good used one to turn up locally for the right price, but no luck. (I know of one for sale locally, but the price isn't that great.) Has anyone here bought directly from either of the above, or would it be better to buy via one...

Thanks for the feedback. In the light of your comments, I think I will start shopping around for a "proper" focus cloth, it sounds like they're a nice thing to have.

The Sinar binocular viewer would be interesting, but my Sinar kit is already getting too big and heavy

Just thought I'd speak up and mention that I'm finding this thread quite interesting and helpful; like the thread starter, I'm also looking at moving from 4x5 (printed in an enlarger) to 8x10 (contact printed). Keep the helpful information coming, one day I'll find an 8x10 setup for a sane price
