House in Wallace

We visited some friends a couple of weeks ago, on the way home we decided to stop somewhere and have some food and play a game of scrabble, as you do. I headed to Wallace as I knew there was a Butter factory there from the many times I traversed Ballarat Road (highway) in the seventies; before the f...

Re: Dead Tree in Sun, Girraween.

Thank you for the explanation.

Are you going further with this technique, or are you happy with where you are?

In the eighties there was a fair amount of Worhol copying in the advertising world; imitation was certainly quite flattering to him I thought.

Re: Epiphyte, White Wood.

Quite a nice rendition of the trunks, funnily enough, those trunks look like they belong to a dead tree, yet, unlike a parasite, an epiphyte doesn't live off and possibly be the demise of the host. Nice one there Maris. Even allowing for the fact you are using a 300mm, it looks as though you are rea...

Re: Dead Tree in Sun, Girraween.

Very interesting, I like the technique and this image, not quite in the same style as Andy Warhol, but a definite likeness. His silk screen stuff is very interesting, more so in the flesh. I was able to see some at an exhibition in Germany, in the flesh they are really something. Care to elaborate o...

Re: Swing Bridge

Thanks Walter. About the same old tired stuff, maybe, maybe not. I find that I can get quite interested in something over small details. For instance, my rock picture at Bailey's Rocks, was inspired as I walked past and saw the framing. If it wasn't for the framing I would have kept on walking. I di...

Swing Bridge

This was in Portland Victoria at the edge of its CBD, so to speak. Even had some ducks in, but they didn't line up. Learnt a lesson with this, I tried the 65mm, but it was too wide at that angle. Probably would have been alright if I had been standing about 1m from the bank, in the water. Shen Hao H...

Re: House Dergholm

Thanks Maris. It certainly is an interesting house. When my in-laws came to Australia from Germany around 30+ years ago, we stopped in our Kombi Kamper for a drink. While walking around stretching our legs my mother in-law mentioned words to the effect, "why do they leave houses like that stand...

Walter, from Gold Street Studios, which is near Daylesford in rural Victoria, about 1 hour west of Melbourne.

The 50 sheet box is the cheapest way to purchase it, as you'll soon see.

Re: Bailey's Rocks

Found by accident. We arrived at the campsite, and once set-up; which takes about 2 minutes, we headed down to have a gander. There are two walks from the campsite, one is 300m the other 5Km. We decided upon the 300m one and did the other one the next morning. I had only walked about 30m when I spie...
