Re: Opening

Awesome. Make sure you come up and introduce yourselves! It would be nice to meet you all. If you don't make it to the opening on Friday night - try PMing me or something to let me know when you'll be coming in and I'll head over to the gallery.

Re: Scanning 4x5 Negatives

AFAIK (I could be wrong!) the new hassy flextight scanners won't do 4x5?

Re: Scanning 4x5 Negatives

I am using an Epson V700. I am mostly happy with results although it tends to block up the often very subtle shadow detail you get on a well exposed Velvia 50 tranny. I think the scans are good enough for up 30" prints or so. Bigger stuff I would normally pay to have drum (or higher quality at ...

Nice Mark. So you carted 4x5 on the Rockburn trail? That's quite a hike!

Re: Building your own motorised roller base for development?

My motor finally died yesterday. I have found what I think will work as a replacement motor for my Jobo at Jaycar. I also ordered a variable speed controller for it to replace the old Jobo crunch switch. I'll let everyone know how I go with it! Should be here early next week.

Re: Intro

They are very good at Foto Frenzy. The guys there are photographic devotees. Their darkroom is very well setup.
I'll make sure you get an invite!
No, not all waterfalls. But I do like them a lot...so expect some at least! :)

Re: A couple of waterfalls

How 'bout this one then??
8-)

Image

This is a bit experimental - it's a digital stitch of 2 4x5" Velvia 50 trannies. I'm calling it Super-Pano. At 300dpi it's around 2.4m x 1m

Re: WTB: 8x10 field/folding camera

Yeah sorry. I read back further and then realised the discussion was specifically Tachi-based. My bad....
I didn't think they were available anymore either. Even in 4x5 - when I bought my Chamonix I couldn't find a new Tachi either.
