I do agree that it does get around, not too sure if, in this case, the aluminium checker plate would help that much in the event of something solid hitting it.

Re: Large Format Fun

Yep, figured that one out immediately. Been there done that. Have had thin (not wide) boards coming up from the rear of a chair where the subjects rested their heads, then fire away. Did this with school photography with 35mm and doing each child one after the other using a bulk film back on my F3 b...

Re: Large Format Fun

That sounds like a very nice way to spend some time. Interesting gap between the background and subjects. Also, cannot say I have ever photographed someone holding an 8x10" DDS holder. Hmm, could be something to organise down here when the warmer weather gets this far south. Food for ...

Shane, wouldn't it be better to start a new thread with the appropriate dates?

Motorcycle Outfit

This was my step back into HP5+ after not using it for somewhere around 8-10 years. I wished to get myself back into using it as my go to 400 film as I have picked up 200 sheets of it. Wishing to use it mainly for flat weather, or where I need a kick, I chose a subject that was flat as a p...

Re: Weathered Boards, Kangaroo Ridge

That really is something.

Not often can one depict flat boards in B&W with such an impact.

Nicely done.

Re: Canyon, Booloomba Creek.

Looks like you were rewarded with great weather for photographing, after what was probably an interesting walk in. Cloudy bright weather?

Never heard of Booloomba Creek, so I did a search, came up with Booloumba Creek, is this the same?

Nice picture by the way.

Re: Spring Herbs, Silver Gull Lake.

That is nice, a non busy part of a busy environment, or at least the environment generally looks busy. The dead tree and stump are positioned to give a nice symmetry to the moving live tree. The foreground spring herbs (presumably) are also placed to perfection, almost looks like you placed them the...

Re: Bronco Yard Diamantina NP Qld

Walter, the straining wire between the corner post and the two brace posts, were probably as taught as the day they were put in place. Quite remarkable when you consider how they were probably originally placed and with what tools to hand the workers had. All wire on and around these three posts, we...

Re: Fallen Poplar, Lake Jindabyne.

Maris, bad luck for the fallen tree has turned into good luck for yourself. You have taken advantage of something photogenic, where others may have dismissed it and walked on. One aspect I really like, is that the central point of interest is the brightest part of the picture. Whether or not you had...
