Kodak Plus-X Pan film

I've been given a box of Kodak Plus-X Pan 8x10 film. As a guess, it's probably more than 30 years old based on the packaging and Plus-X is not a film I have any knowledge of beyond it being a nominal iso 125. I'd appreciate any suggestions on shooting it before I go out and burn some.

Re: FS: Horseman L series 8x10

Thanks Barry. PC nomenclature aside it is a great camera to use but I'm starting carrying an 8x10 into the hills from time to time and the Horseman/person is just a wee bit heavy for that!

Re: FS: Horseman L series 8x10

Sorry I didn't include that information.

Lachlan is correct, it is the standard rail which is 400mm.

FS: Horseman L series 8x10

A beast of a camera to carry at around 8.5kg, it would be suitable for someone working from their car or even studio use. The camera is a Horseman 8x10 L series (the most basic model I believe). Both the front/rear rise and shift are geared, the swing and tilt movements on both standards are frictio...

Re: Good photo locations in Tassie (minus the usual suspects!)

G’day Lachlan, May can be a great time in Tasmania with relatively stable weather and beautiful diffused light. I’m not sure how much walking you’ll be inclined to do with all your gear so the following suggestions are easily accessed from the roadside. As mentioned, the Tarkine coast is magnificent...

Re: Moving to colour

Hi Paul, The silence is deafening on this one. If your shooting transparency, film latitude is obviously much more of a consideration. Recording detail 2 -2 ½ stops either side of your mid tone is realistic. If don't use them already you might want to look a ND grad or two, especially if you plan to...

"New" Velvia RVP 50

Back in February Fuji announced that it was relaunching Velvia RVP 50 4x5, repackaged and at a significantly higher price. So far it's availablity has been extremely limited and the only retailers that I have found selling it are based in Japan. If anyone has bit the bullet and made the purchase, I'...

Re: Scanning 4x5 Negatives

Paul, A little more scanning info that you may find useful. I should mention that I primarily deal with positive films but I do shoot the occasional sheet of colour neg. In terms of scanning, I've found colour negative is much more challenging to get accurate results with. However, in certain high c...
