RIP Martine Franck

Martine Franck died yesterday, after a protracted illness. She was 74. Franck joined the Vu Agency in the 1960s, and became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1983. Condensor and diffusion enlargers may require different processing times for film due to the Callier effect. As a rule, dust and spotting is more of an issue with condensor light sources. Having said that, I have generally preferred condensor enlargers. Mind you, I have never delved into point-sourc...

Darkness is nothing to fear. Years ago Kodak in Melbourne employed blind people in the film handling and packaging area. Quite painterly Welly. I really like the white dot with the dark surround; it is almost like a sun. I wonder how it would affect things to rotate the image 90º clockwise and turn it into a sunrise over a landscape?
