Re: QANTAS Group Finance Flying Carpet

" The bonus gift when I saw the processed film was that the lines in the timber flooring, together with the perspective exaggeration of the 47 mm lens, looked reminiscent of comic book lines of velocity."

I agree with those lines of velocity! Especially to the right.

Up close with one of my favourites

I really, really like this building, and I think I'm going to spend some time taking a bunch of photos of it. I missed dead-level here by just a tiny bit, and the vertical lines are diverging as they rise (I think), but I like this pic, how it emphasizes the roof overhang and shows some of the compl...

Re: Super Sharp, Super Fine Grain Film & Soup

Not the same detail, but Steve O'nions has started to give it a whirl, too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBRoVRshGfM I still have two more rolls to go, and the adotech iv to dev. I've done a few enlargements with the first couple of rolls and there was no grain to focus when enlarging, the only th...

Re: Below cotter dam

Hi Mick, thanks for your note. When I mention zooming I'm probably talkiing about zooming in on an image once I've scanned it, looking around in the detail on a computer. I've just today ordered a 300mm lens (Apo Ronar) which I am looking forward to a lot. I think that 90, 135 and 300 should cover a...

Re: Below cotter dam

Cheers Walter. I wondered about doing that, but then supposed I'd be constrained to using one development method for both. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I'd chose to do them differently :) i will make a plan for dev and give it a go next time, thatd be an interesting exercise. Thanks fo...

Below cotter dam

We were able to move around a bit more this weekend and were very glad for it. This shot made me realize how much I want a longer lens... I had a good time zooming around this image looking for crops. Switched it up from ortho here to FP4+ with an orange filter. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5...

Re: Large pile of river sticks

Happy you like the look, RoganJosh! I chose ortho for a change, and had seen some landscapes taken with it that I liked. I like it for portraits, too. Walter, I just develop in a tank without inspection. This method (12mins at 1:64 or so, hc-110) was taken from Alex Luyckx. I like his content on dev...

Exchanging prints

Hello! I've had a search here and haven't found any "print exchange" threads, so thought I'd ask about it. Do these sorts of things happen? I've seen them on other sites, a group of 2 to 10 people agree to send around a print to each member of the group each month or so. I would absolutely...

Re: Composition in Iron, Panel, Shadow

I watched a doco last night on Stieglitz which featured a fair bit of Strang's work... I was absolutely blown away by it and have been finding and ordering books of his online today. I'll also agree whole heartedly (with the caveat that I've only just discovered him) that this has whispers of Strang...
