Ground glass image

A digital image captured through the ground glass (scourered acrylic sheet) of my homemade simple lens sliding box 8x10 camera.

Image was desaturated, cleaned up and slightly sharpened in Photoshop.

Photoshop is really powerful, I used that before on my previous work as graphic designer. I do lot of image editing in that cool tool.

Hey guys I've finally gotten back to this project of digital capture of the ground glass. Attached is a shot to test the validity of the concept which has lead me to constructing a new back for my camera on which to mount the digital camera. I'll post more images as I finish the build and test it out.

Hi Ray, quite a nice idea and results are interesting. But instead of photographing the ground glass image, have you considered removing the gg and focusing on the aerial image? This would preserve the imaging characteristics of the lens without introducing the 'artefacts' of the ground glass.

Thanks Barry, I had considered what you propose, but unfortunately I know too little about optics to work out how one could achieve that.
I quite like the grainy artifacts. In fact I mostly shoot FB paper negs and then oil them before contact printing so that the grain shows in the final print.
