Ken Wenzel, Landscape Painter

Image
Ken Wenzel, Landscape Painter
Gelatin-silver photograph on Ultrafine Silver Eagle VC FB photographic paper, image size 21.2cm X 16.3cm, from a 4x5 Kodak Tmax 400 negative exposed in a Tachihara 45GF field view camera fitted with a Nikkor-W 210mm f5.6 lens.

Ken is a radiantly eccentric painter with a beautiful style of colourful Australian landscapes. The Japanese cannot get enough of his paintings which has, in the general flow of art commerce, made him a multi-millionaire. Ken's landscapes have been accused of being so benign that they are the only views of Australia that don't include a snake somewhere in the grass. Ken says he never paints 'em in.

Bravo Maris,
Great talent both sides of the lens in this glorious preternatural portrait charged with the exuberant spirit and personality of Ken Wenzell. Clearly mirrored, also, is the admiration and respect which the photographer holds his sitter.
