Superb portrait Mick. Light skimming across face, subject in chair so no focus problem, pale background gets out of the way so that the subject dominates the frame, and the 250mm f6.3 lens is used to best advantage.
I worried about the two trees emerging from the beret but the magnified view shows they were well out of focus and not a merger.

Thanks Maris.
I do believe this is one of my better portraits of late. I too was worried about the background, but having the longer lens and being closer to the subject certainly helped. I actually took this in portrait format, but it was too busy, so some quite judicial cropping elevated it rather a lot.
Nice side paddock, eh?
