Lovely, Walter. Fantastic lighting, great subject. I'd be very happy with this one.

Thanks Alastair,

I can sense that I may have found a new muse. There'll be more, I am sure.

What a beautiful high key study! If you are going to do more please show them. I'd like to see how you work around such a prominent tattoo. When I photograph people with a lot of ink my pictures tend to converge (inadvertently, unconsciously?) on a theme dominated by the tatts.

I hear you Maris, and I also find that ink can take over when I do my editorial shoots for a biker mag.

But part of the segregation between recreational and commercial is shifting the the emphasis. In this case it is an observation of some of the artefacts of lifestyle: the shoes, the bracelet, the hair and the inks. It is not intended as commentary, criticism, judgement or idolatry. An observation in keeping with a lot of other body observations which, together, form something of a typology of the human form and condition at this time and in this place.

One I scan some more I shall post them. There was one pair which I shot to either show or conceal the sculptural quality of the scapula incorporating the tattoo.

For anyone curious about why the tree and tyre-swing are inverted, I have received the following explanation:

Hi Walter, You can of course ask, the reason it is upside down is because its a family tree and chronologically, you're family are your roots, so in order to have the tree progressing it needed to start from the roots and flow down =). The tyre swing is representative of my little sister charli, in that she is the innocence in an insane family and that I hope that she always reaches for the sky, and watching her grow "up".
