Mick, what a nice architectural shot. The raking light makes an entertaining shadow-play among the eaves and posts. And the sky festooned with power lines adds a contemporary touch.
The ladders really enhance the picture. I think back to William Henry Fox Talbot's use of the same ladder in his April, 1844 pictures The Haystack and The Ladder. The ladder motif worked brilliantly then; still works well.

I've had my eye on this house for a while, the newish owners have been giving it the onceover and as soon as I saw the colour scheme, I knew it was going to be a definite subject at some point in time.
The owner was up on the roof painting the eaves just out of sight, while I took this.
