Gelatin-silver photograph on Freestyle Private Reserve VC FB photographic paper, image size 24.6cm X 19.6cm, from a 8x10 Kodak TriX Pan Professional negative exposed in a Tachihara 810HD triple extension field view camera fitted with a Schneider Super Angulon 121mm f8 lens.

Thanks Walter. Sometimes the variables cooperate: pale bark trees, lots of bounce light off water, overcast day, Tri-X with that famous long toe to the characteristic curve, all add up to the "mother of pearl" tonality. The hard part was coming up with a quirky asymmetric composition to stop the picture sliding off into the land of bland.

Maris, the ever so slight edge falloff, has worked to your great advantage here. With all of the interesting stuff having the right kind of detail and lightness nearer the central part, while the edges seem to look as though they have been skillfully airbrushed into a perfect seamless vignette masking.
