Fallen Trees, Murdering Creek

Image
Fallen Trees, Murdering Creek
Gelatin-silver photograph on Ilford MGIV FB photographic paper, image size 21.cm X 16,3cm, from a 4x5 Tmax 400 negative exposed in a Tachihara 45GF double extension field view camera fitted with a somewhat fuzzy Voigtlander 21cm f4.5 Heliar lens.

Murdering Creek is the site of a massacre of aboriginal people in 1864. The place is now still and quiet. And an impressionable photographer might find the ambience a bit creepy. Dead trees look like bones, I guess.

Looks like a low contrast day, bush is a hard to photograph subject, the inclusion of these limbs and/or trunk lifts the image enormously. The impact is aided by the dull background, quite a find there Maris.

Mick.
