Walter, that is a seriously good moonrise. I try to do them fairly often and they always seem difficult because the timing is so critical, mere minutes either way.
The best day is not full moon but the day before it.
The correct exposure is the one that shows the "man in the moon" face.
Too early in the day and the moon is close to the horizon, very pale, and merges with the sky.
Too late in the day and the moon is high and bright and everything else is so dark that the correct exposure dumps foreground detail into blackness.
I always add a #25 red filter to lower the sky tone and make the moon stand out more. Maybe if I used an Apo Symmar 150mm 1:5.6 lens there'd be plenty of native contrast.

By the way there is a neat gantry crane in the background.
