Red River Gum

Postby Mick Fagan » 07 Jun 2021, 16:52

This was taken early in the morning after a freezing night in Little Desert NP. I had gone for an early morning walk and the whole of the area was shrouded in deep fog, temperature was around -1 for the night. As I was returning to our camp The mist started to clear and I noted this tree, I quickly pulled the camera out of the truck and managed to get this before the sun burst through and burnt the mist off.

Quite messy and really should have been a colour picture, but..............

No problem with it being B&W at this end Mick,

I like it a lot.

Thank you Walter, there is often a big difference between what one thinks of something they have produced, and what someone else thinks of the same work.

I remember the faint magenta look of the lighter parts of the trunk and limbs, as the tree emerged from the mist just as dawn was pushing the darkness away. This of course is lost in B&W but sometimes with colour, you can grab that subtle colouring and lift an ordinary scene to an inspiring scene.

Couldn't agree more Mick,

Especially in circumstances liike you mention where colour is a key factor.
