These are fantastic, thanks Alex! What (I assume) 120 back are you using on your Linhof?

Cheap $170 ebay 6x12 holder and the $550 Da-Yi 6x17 holder.. I'm on the edge of selling my 4x5 gear to buy a 617 point and shoot but I cant let go of the big girl.. :)

Heres a couple more..

Some stunning 6x17 images.

Whats the rule about 6x17 for this forum, is it LF if it comes from a roll film camera or only LF if its taken using a roll film back on a LF camera.

Cheers
Shane

I've got no problem with medium format shots personally as a lot of the knowledge we can earn from those shooting MF can certainly be put into practice with large format.

I figure when shooting 120 in a 4x5 camera, the only difference between LF and MF is how you load the film. The camera is the same, operation is the same, movements are the same.... The only ONLY difference is how you load the film and unload the film..

When I move to a 617 point and shoot then obviously the differences are much more apparent. Only similarity then is that I'm shooting the same medium (film) and metering the same way.. I did consider a 6x17 view camera like the Shen Hao folding 617.. It costs double what the 617 I will be buying costs....

Oh yeah the Ebony is beautiful, but tripple the cost of the Shen Hao which is still double that of the Da-Yi or Gaoersi 617's... With a 6mth old at home, budget is everything! :)
