Thanks lads,
In the 1950s my father worked briefly for a man who had a (then) brand new Hudson Hornet. It was such a thrill as a kid to go for a run in the commodious rear section. This was an era when a 'saloon' really was quite a saloon. Now we are stuck in the era of the 'sedan' or the hatchback where rear seat accommodation is something of an afterthought.
