Gelatin-silver photograph on Freestyle Private Reserve VC FB photographic paper, image size 24.6cm X 19.5cm, from a 8x10 Efke IR820 negative exposed in a Tachihara 810HD field view camera fitted with a Nikkor-W 210mm f5.6 lens with the front group removed. This yielded an ill corrected lens of effective focal length approximately 700mm. An IR680 filter was added to capture the infrared effect.

I remember wanting the effect of bursting light and streaky clouds due to the long exposure required. Got more than I bargained for. Nothing exceeds like excess.

What a fantastic effect, Maris. Who could have expected that? It's hard to find the right words to describe the effect, but blinding and eerie at the same time seem to fit. The effect is very appealing and certainly demands further contemplation.

All at once both visceral and ethereal, Maris. A real BRAVO! moment.
