Maris,
I have always had a fond spot for soft focus lenses. As I made it said I once had Kodak Portrait lens dating from 1947 which I am pretty certain was a single element design and I'd shoot pretty well wide open and adored the glow to small high value areas.

Hats off to you rigging your own. This seasonal image is so wonderfully visual verse.
