On the face of it a steel ladder to access a tee on North Bondi Golf Links which is embedded into what appears to be a wall of the ends of basalt columns. But no. According to a cousin who isa geologist who did a survey there some 40 years ago the columns are sandstone. in several areas around Sydney the sandstone in contact with basalt (originally) has been metamorphosed and on cooling forms columns similar to basalt on cooling. The basalt at Bondi is only found in the cliffs at Ben Buckler. Basalt erodes more readily and has disappeared in many places, such as the Bondi Golf Course.

Yeah definitely, it reminds me of the earlyish stuff Picasso was doing with Braque.

I saw this on your Flickr, Walter, and enjoyed it even more as a full screen experience.
Very nicely done.
