Renovations Encroaching

Postby Walter Glover » 13 Jul 2021, 05:00

GLEBE, N.S.W. — 2002
Is affluence the enemy of patina? Character? Reality?
In fact the geometrics of the eaves, roofing and downpipe give the impression of being on a separated plane with the possibility of an alternative perspective. Such is the micro tonality of an 8x10 transparency.

Walter, you have captured a catalogue of every building material known all squeezed into one picture! It must take a lot of intense looking to find such a concentrated little scene.
And whoever Jack was who tagged the downpipe at least he had the decency to leave the wall patina unbesmirched.

Thanks again. Maris,

Part and parcel with the pursuit of urban anomalies, in eitherr the city or the bush, is the need to tag. We see it largely witth paint, alomg Hadrian's Wall 2,000 years ago tthe method that stoodd the test of time was the sword or dagger tip. The human urge remaind unaltered.
