Gelatin-silver photograph on Ultrafine Silver Eagle VC FB photographic paper, image size 21.5cm X 16.3cm, from a 4x5 Kodak Tmax 400 negative
exposed in a Tachihara 45GF field view camera fitted with a top-hat lensboard carrying a 330mm single meniscus lens and a #25 red filter.

Good result Maris. I've been interested in playing around with such a lens but haven't got around to it yet. I take it you used a reversed close-up lens and no aperture disc? I've seen some beautiful images done with simple lenses of this sort. Well done!

Exactly right, Barry Kirsten. The optic was a #3 close-up lens Blu-Tacked to the back of a spare Copal 3 shutter. A red filter was added to subdue the chromatic aberration of this simple lens.
Soft focus glow works nicely with white or bright things; not so well with dark objects.
