Flower

Postby Alastair Moore » 15 Dec 2012, 13:49

Image

8x10 with Fuji 300mm f5.6 @ f/16.

Fomapan 100 in D-76. Loving this combination at the moment. Scanned in Epson Scan but is crying at me to be contact printed. The marks at the top appear to be something to do with the scanner as the negative looks fine.

Wow the tone in this is spectacular, particularly in the darker leaves at the bottom of the frame.

Sounds like you need to set up a darkroom and get printing!

Yes its only 10 bucks for a piece of 6mm glass. Looks really nice it that tone you have applied. My only problem with doing toning in PS is knowing how to replicate it in a wet darkroom.

Nice shot but it seems a bit unreal.
Is that photoshop or scanning
Or just the flower?

It was scanned and toned in Lightroom. I added some contrast to it, sharpened it a little bit but that's pretty much it.

Here's the original scan:

It does look a bit surreal, I admit but I quite like it!

Yeah I still can't understand the plastic nature of the image
Maybe an optical print might convince me it's not some Disney animation!
