Wild Passion Vine, Sunshine Beach.

The vine lies low among the grasses and sedges of this windswept foreshore. Its yellow fruits are sweet and may be eaten but the scientific name Passiflora foetida is an implicit reminder of the pungent and lingering aftertaste.

I can sense the wind on that grassy knoll.

Walter, you're not wrong. The vine can't put its head up because its large leaves would be shredded by the prevailing south-easter. I caught it on a rare calm day so subject movement would not be a issue during the quarter second exposure. And I sent the Scheimpflug plane up the hillside by strong back tilt on the camera. This produces a looming foreground and makes the vine look stronger than it is. My car wing mirror works the opposite way: objects are bigger and closer than they appear; worth remembering in traffic!
