I've ready been speaking to anton orlov about this. It looks like this is the max for the bellows
In the above picture you can see the front standard is racked all the way to the front, the bellows are stretched to their limit. I dont think you could get much more out of them. It doesnt bother me too much. I tend to lean towards wider lenses these days anyway. Thanks so much fo4 the offer though.

Maybe some sort of top-hat lens board to get an extra 50mm?

That may well work. But the lens comes pretty close to the edge of the lens board... It would be a fiddly engineering job above my scope.

If you want, send me the dimensions of the rail anyway.

Being able to rack back would be good. Be better balanced if the lens isn't too far forward.

Will do. Which dimensions do you need?

As it stands it's not too bad with this Manfrotto lens support I had lying around. That takes a lot of strain off the rails with it all racked out and the big brass lens on the end. I suspect it will be great with tbe shorter 450 and 355mm lenses. It is very stable and minimal shake compared to without the lens support
