I am aiming more at the queensland large format enthusiasts, but I would like to know if any of you know of Sandy Barrie. I met him briefly when I lived on the gold coast for a short period of time. I had some old wooden film holders on an auction site and Sandy had been the highest bidder of quite a few.
He made the drive to pick them up and over a cup of coffee he told me of his heartbreaking time during the Brisbane floods.
He had a Hunter and Penrose camera, a monolith that was once owned by the Brisbane Museum and prior to that was in service for the government I believe for map making and the like. This along with a vast collection of positives and negatives succumbed to the rising waters of the floods.
I would like to get in contact with him if possible.
