B&h shipping - good news

Postby alex gard » 20 Nov 2014, 21:13

Some of you may already know, I just saw on facebook that b&h is now offering DHL worldwide shipping to Aus, much cheaper than UPS, so good news for us!

But DHL is notoriously slow in my experience. MInd you, so is USPS. On September 29 I ordered an iPhone case and car mount from a firm in 'Melbourne'. They sent an advice and tacking number that the item was on its way with USPS (from Melbourne??) and I received at my PO Box just yesterday — 7 weeks!

I guess there are variables in all post systems. I've had auspost express items get lost for a couple of months before showing up.

Perhaps the melbourne firm sent it to you from a dealer in china?! Who knows. I don't trust much I buy online and am generally happy with the risks I've taken. Only been let down once or twice.

Once ordered a filter from b&h, site said it was in stock etc, it came to my house about 6 months later and I'd had no replies to my email in that tine. By the time it came to me I'd completely forgotten about it. That was thru usps as well.

As long as the postage is cheap I dont mind waiting. Just order well in advance.

Very true re: Japan Post.
From Japan I've had very large parcels arrive within 2 days of shipping.

Hugo from Chamonix in China has also had packages arrive to me within 2 days.
