Wanted: 4x5 Enlarger + Glass

OMG these things are expensive.

I've fairly recently started shooting 4x5 - I actually bought my Toyo from Walter late last year. I've been printing using my injet for about 6 months but I think I'm ready to setup a darkroom.

At the moment there is a Durst L1200 on Gumtree for about $4k which might be fair but is outside of m budget. I'm wondering if anyone has a unit their no longer using - I can pay something but not $4k.

If you've got a unit you think might suit the bill please get in touch.

Thanks,
Tim

What state are you in?

Not that I've got anything directly suitable, but it might be helpful info for others because shipping can be expensive.

Hi Oscar - I live in Brisbane. I am prepared to drive interstate if required because shipping is expensive. It would also be an excuse to take some photos.

timcooper there is a spare 4x5 enlarger at my place in Noosa. It is a Meopta Magnitarus 10 X 15. It has not been used for some years. The actual owner is on a photo-shoot in the Australian Alps. I'll ask and let you know. Much much less than 1k if available.

I've got a (very) old Durst 5x7 that I bought as a restoration project several years ago. Needs rewiring etc, but it's complete (including various condensors etc). I haven't yet worked out a price, but it's very big and heavy and would probably be hard to shift interstate (from Adelaide). But, like Maris's, it would be comfortably less than 1k.

Hey mate, this would be ideal if you could ask for me. Noosa is also perfect as it’s only a 2hr drive.

Let me know how you go. I’ll DM you my phone number.

Thanks Oscar! I will see how Maris’s pans out first and let you know given it’s so much closer.

I appreciate you offering though.

Sorry; mine’s long sold.

Have you checked Intrepid’s website? I thought they were doing some sort of enlarger.

No problems @Lachlan717 - I did see Intrepid’s new enlarger but it doesn’t go to 4x5.

They do have a kit, but it converts an existing Intrepid 4x5 camera.

Good idea, and less than $4k(!!!).

See https://intrepidcamera.co.uk/products/i ... axon_id=33

There was one on one of the Facebook pages (listed yesterday), but it’s in Melbourne.
