Finished my Australian Democrats* storage box.

In readiness for the Tassie rustication, I've just finished building a box for my gear.

Like the Democrats, it's there to keep the bastards honest.

Unlike the Democrats, however, it has more than one use. It'll be the bigger of a two piece box system to make a sleeping area in the back of the car.

I need to remove the stickers on the aluminium and I'll end up replacing the back hinges with white metal ones, but (and I do write so myself), it's pretty bloody good!

Looks fantastic, Lachlan. I presume it has padded partitions inside?

Looking at a magnified view, the thought popped into my mind that you might have an idea where to buy very small wood screws, suitable for use in camera making, the sort of things shown here, for example. You don't see anything like this in the likes of Bunnings or Home Hardware. Metal screws are not such a problem as a specialist fasteners place usually has a range of them. Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

Barry,

Have a look at "Hobby King". Massive hobby supply store on line. I get stuff from them.

Otherwise, my local place might have something. Look up "Ferntree Gully Nuts and Bolts". I got tiny screws for my Speed Graphic from them.

Thanks Lachlan, that looks just the place. I've found no problem with metal screws and bolts; I was surprised recently to be able to get small metric screws for an enlarger from Ultimate Fasteners in Shepparton; but wood screws are a real PITA to find in Aust. Thanks again.
