Getting back to the original question, I'm quite happy with my Rodenstock 4x loupe. The quality is great, although I'd like to also have a 6x loupe for some occasions; the idea would be to use the 4x mostly, and have the 6x for the few occasions where a bit more magnification is needed.

I use a Peak x4 without any dramas, maybe I'm just not that careful focusing. My x8 is to powerful on a GG with Fresnel like the Wista has fitted as you just see the pattern in the Fresnel.
