They are big enough to make carbon prints from, weather they are big enough to view is up to you, personally I think there a little small and 5x7 is the smallest I would be using. But if your going to learn carbon printing they will work.

On a lighter note, I'm currently in Brisvegas for the day, and I have been offered enough Queensland Red Cedar to make a couple of new cameras by one of my clients.
You blokes are going to be so jealous. So is Mr Ebony and his crap firewood cameras!

Cedar is one of the softest timbers.
Are you sure it's suitable?

Not Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata); Australian Red Cedar (Toona ciliata).
One of the world's great joinery/furniture timbers. Now very hard to get old growth stock.
